Bertolt Brecht - "Klaus Kinski singt und spricht Brecht"
.
Klaus Kinski (October 18, 1926 in Sopot – November 23, 1991 in Lagunitas, California) was a German actor of partly Polish descent, famous for his ability to project on-screen intensity, and for his explosive temperament. One of the most eccentric and colourful personalities in the entire film history, in a way the last real German "Star", Klaus Kinski´s life was as strange as his films. As he once said himself, the roles he played were actually part of his real life. Kinski was a fanatic in everything he did. Although he acted in over 180 films, his international reputation is built on five collaborations with German director Werner Herzog, including the films Aguirre: "The Wrath of God" (1972), "Nosferatu the Vampyre" (1979), and "Fitzcarraldo" (1982).
This disc features ten tracks of Klaus Kinski reading and singing the work of Bertold Brecht in German. They were recorded live at the townhall in Vienna.
Tracklist:
1. Und Was Bekam Des Soldaten Weib
2. Der Anstreicher Spricht Von Kommenden Grossen Zeiten
3. Der Barbara Song Oder Die Ballade Vom Nein Und Ja
4. O Du Falada Da Du Hangest
5. Ballade Vom Weib Und Dem Soldaten
6. An Die Nachgeborenen
7. Kinder Kreuzzug 1939
8. An Meine Landsleute
9. Vier Aufforderungen An Einen Mann Von Verschiedener Zeiten
10. Vom Sprengen Des Gartens

Wowza!
Did not know Kinski was a singer. I know the man almost solely for his work with Warner Herzog.
Aguirre- The Wrath of God is one of the best movies ever made. If you have not seen it, I know there is a torrent at The Pirate Bay.

Thanks for the Aguirre-tip, I´ve seen this film in the cinema a few years ago and it is really great!
Hey Redrum (ist Dein Name ein Hinweis auf einen anderen großartigen Film?), freut mich, daß Dir Kinski gefällt! Hoffe, Dein nächste Tag wird besser!

I was always a Kinski fan. Saw many of his films in my movie-going heyday late teens-20's.
Now I must report that films have well & truly taken a back seat to music & I can't even remember going out to see a film in the past 10 or so yrs, nor do I hire dvd/videos - except for our son here.
I just feel guilty sitting about watching a film. I always think I could be doing something more productive. And that if it's not something active, is more often than not music. :)
Well...there are only so many hrs in a day!!

This arrived from Amazon Marketplace the day before yesterday. His version of the Barbara Song is astonishing, but not for traditionalists. It is interesting because he pushes "Epic" back into "Expressionist".

It is definitly astonishing, thanks for your comment! There are days i prefer listening to these versions rather to the tradionalistic ones. Greetings!
